Background : Sened, is an independent non-profit organization established and registered in Türkiye (under No: 27-15-175) in 2013.
•The name “Sened” in Arabic means “support” you could count on.
•Sened, was founded in response to The Syrian catastrophe, which led to critical situations and displacement of internally displaced people (IDPs) within Syria. The individuals who faced hardships due to factors such as repression, human rights abuses, and violence against civilians (including bombings, shelling, and sieges) and the urgent needs of millions of Syrian refugees in Türkiye. Later, our projects expanded to include support for the Turkish hosting community of the Syrian refugees. Our work spans across humanitarian sectors, with a special focus on advocating for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and their families.

Job purpose : The PSS Worker is responsible for delivering structured psychosocial support (PSS) activities and supporting the case management process within the Makany 3 project. The role aims to strengthen the wellbeing, resilience, and coping mechanisms of children, adolescents, and caregivers, with a focus on persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. In addition to planning and facilitating group PSS sessions in line with Sened’s curriculum, the PSS Worker will conduct field outreach, identify and assess individuals at risk, and refer them to case management services as needed. By ensuring safe, inclusive, and supportive environments, the PSS Worker contributes to the early identification of protection needs and the provision of appropriate psychosocial care and referrals.
Duties, Objectives, Competencies :
• Plan, prepare, and facilitate structured PSS sessions for children, adolescents, and caregivers in line with Sened’s PSS curriculum
• Create safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces for group activities, ensuring participation of persons with disabilities
• Adapt activities to the age, gender, and abilities of participants, including children with disabilities
• Conduct pre- and post-assessments of participants’ wellbeing to measure progress and outcomes of PSS interventions
• Document attendance, session content, and observations systematically, ensuring quality and consistency
• Support awareness-raising sessions for caregivers and communities on wellbeing, stress management, and coping strategies
• Conduct outreach in the community to identify individuals and households with protection concerns
• Carry out initial assessments and intake interviews using Sened’s standardized case management tools
• Identify urgent protection needs and immediately refer high-risk cases to Case Workers or specialized services
• Develop basic care and follow-up recommendations for individuals identified during PSS activities
• Coordinate closely with the Case Worker and Protection Officer to ensure smooth referral pathways
• Maintain accurate records of identified cases and ensure all data is entered into the case management database in a timely manner
• Participate in regular team meetings to review cases, update service mapping, and coordinate referrals
• Submit weekly and monthly activity reports, including achievements, challenges, and recommendations
Essential Requirements :
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Sociology, or other relevant field
• At least 1 certified training in psychosocial support, child protection, or case management
• Minimum 2 year of professional work experience in humanitarian or social service sectors
• At least 1 year of direct facilitation experience delivering structured group sessions (PSS, life skills, awareness, or similar)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in case management or protection-related identification/assessment of vulnerable individuals
• Fluency in Arabic (C1 level or above) and Turkish (C1 level or above)
• Turkish nationality or valid residency/work permit in Türkiye
• Availability to travel at least 25% of working time within Gaziantep province (Şehitkamil, Şahinbey, Nizip, Islahiye, Nurdağı)
Desired Requirements :
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• 3+ years of total professional experience in humanitarian or social service work
• At least 2 years of experience in delivering structured PSS activities for children or adults
• Experience in working with persons with disabilities (PwDs) in PSS or protection contexts
• Familiarity with MHPSS and child protection guidelines
• Good command of English (B1–B2 level, CEFR)
• Prior work experience in Gaziantep or Southeast Türkiye with knowledge of the local refugee context
• 3+ years of total professional experience in humanitarian or social service work
Technical Competencies:
• Psychosocial Support (PSS) Delivery – Ability to plan, facilitate, and adapt structured group PSS sessions for children, adolescents, and caregivers, using age-appropriate and inclusive approaches.
• Case Identification & Assessment – Skills in conducting intake interviews, basic assessments, and identifying protection risks in line with case management SOPs.
• Referral Pathways – Familiarity with local service providers and ability to make safe, timely, and appropriate referrals.
• Child Protection & Safeguarding – Understanding of child protection principles, safe identification, and safeguarding procedures.
• Disability Inclusion – Knowledge of inclusive practices to ensure accessibility of PSS activities for persons with disabilities.
• Monitoring & Reporting – Ability to maintain accurate records of sessions, prepare beneficiary attendance sheets, and submit activity reports in line with project requirements.
• Community Outreach – Experience in mobilizing and engaging community members, caregivers, and children in structured activities.
• Facilitation & Group Dynamics – Skills in managing groups of 10–15 participants, encouraging participation, and resolving conflicts constructively.
• Data Protection & Confidentiality – Understanding of safe data handling practices for sensitive beneficiary information.
• Language Skills – Ability to deliver activities and complete documentation fluently in Arabic and Turkish; working knowledge of English is an asset.
